- principles or practices of equity and inclusion; and/or
- an understanding of systemic oppression.
Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Curriculum Development Fund Guidelines
- Faculty may request curriculum development funding to develop new or redevelop existing courses, projects, assignments, or modules focused on or related to:
- the needs of, and/or methods for supporting, marginalized communities;
- principles or practices of equity and inclusion; and/or
- an understanding of systemic oppression.
- Any credit, ABSE, or ESL course taught at LCC is eligible for JDEI curriculum development funding.
- In order to be eligible for funding, new courses must be approved by the Curriculum Committee before applying for funding. Existing courses that require changes to the catalog description (ex., change in title, credits, contact hours, description, outcomes, prerequisites/corequisites) must also be approved by the Curriculum Committee before applying for funding. See the Curriculum Committee Review Guide for more information.
- Faculty applicants may receive up to 70 hours of curriculum development funding, paid at the current curriculum development rate, to support redevelopment of an existing course OR up to 100 hours of curriculum development funding, paid at the current curriculum development rate, to support development of new courses. If faculty members apply as a group, the award amount will be divided up amongst group members based on workload within the group.
- An individual faculty member may not receive more than 135 hours of curriculum development funding per fiscal year. Each fiscal year begins on July 1.
- The curriculum development project must be completed by the date stated on your application. If you require an extension, contact FPD.
- Recipients shall submit a written report on the project within one month of the completion of the project or the final request for payment. Reports will be posted on the FPD website and accessible to faculty colleagues. Reports should:
- describe what was accomplished in the curriculum development project
- outline how the course, project, assignment, or module supports learning about the needs of, and/or methods for supporting, marginalized communities; the principles or practices of equity and inclusion; and/or an understanding of systemic oppression.
