This page outlines the LCC Quarterly Safety Inspection Program. Our goal is to maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant environment through a collaborative, decentralized approach that respects the unique nature of our diverse workspaces.
Program Overview
Scope
This program encompasses all LCC-owned and leased facilities. It applies to all employees, with specific protocols for office occupants, laboratory/shop managers, and administrative leads.
Purpose
Standardized oversight ensures a uniform level of protection for students, staff, and the public. By engaging department members in the inspection of their own specialized spaces, we maintain high compliance and hazard awareness without disrupting daily operations.
The Quarterly Inspection Cycle
The inspection process follows a three-phase "Academic Loop" each term:
Phase | Timing | Action |
|---|---|---|
Phase 1: Activation | Term Start | Risk Management issues a formal notice. Personnel select their inspection method (Buddy System or Formal Walkthrough). |
Phase 2: Execution | Mid-Term | Field inspections of common areas and self-inspections of offices/labs are conducted and data is collected. |
Phase 3: Integration | Term Close | Corrective actions are validated, hazards are escalated to Facilities, and compliance data is archived for state audits. |
