LIFE (Lasting Improvements for Employees) events are open to all Lane employees, their spouses/domestic partners and their dependents (16 years or older), along with retirees. Fitness Classes:
Super Circuits Variety Pack – in Building 30, Room 135
Join these fun and energizing workouts. No matter what your current fitness level is, you’ll improve your aerobic capacity and strength while training using your own body weight, or home equipment, with encouraging coworkers. We’ll do circuit training and group workouts for your endurance and strength building pleasure. (Free, Employees ONLY)

Kaiut Yoga – in Building 05, Room 132
Kaiut Yoga focuses on improving joint mobility, reducing tension, and supporting overall well-being through simple, accessible poses. Designed for all body types and levels of flexibility, this practice emphasizes functional movement to address modern lifestyle challenges, such as prolonged sitting and stress. Participants will explore techniques to promote relaxation, enhance physical comfort, and maintain a balanced mind-body connection. (Free, Employees ONLY)

Stretch, Release, & Relax – in Building 30, Room 135 or on Zoom
Feel better with a 40-minute stretch and myofascial release (self-massage) break to improve your flexibility and range of motion. We’ll use a variety of techniques and a ball and foam roller to soothe tight muscles and fascia, while increasing blood flow and circulation. We'll finish the class with a relaxation exercise. (Free, Employees ONLY)

Freestyle Workout - in Building 30, Room 135
Employees only! - Come workout in the Wellness Center (30/135) - on your own or grab a friend to join you! You can use any of our equipment (treadmills, exercise bikes, ellipticals, free weights, medicine balls, machines, mats, etc…) anytime between the hours listed below (not led by an instructor). You’ll also get weekly, asynchronous self-care wellness tips, with a place for you to check-in on your progress each week. No students are in the room at any time. (Free, Employees ONLY)

Alen Bahret Fitness Center - (Employee Option) Come get rejuvenated in our state-of-the-art fitness center, open to all employees for $45 (transportation fee waived) for the term. Professional staff are on duty to help you with your exercise programming. This is the employee-only non-credit equivalent to PE114. Drop in any time during the open hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 6pm and Fridays 8am - 2pm.

Wellness Activity (e.g. Walk or Jog) Release Time – Classified Staff please sign up if you aren’t in a Wellness Class or using the Alen Bahret Fitness Center
Relieve your stress, connect with coworkers, improve your stamina and be counted for your Wellness Release time. Classified staff get up to one hour of release time each week for wellness activities such as walking, jogging or badminton. Sign up for this CRN if you are not already in a Wellness class or the Alen Bahret Fitness Center. You’ll also get weekly self-care wellness tips through email, with a place for you to check-in on your progress each week. (Free)

Thinking about moving a little more this year? Join our Couch to 5K Employee Wellness group! Whether you prefer walking, jogging, or a mix of both, this program is designed to meet you where you are. Each week, you’ll receive a simple walking/jogging plan and a dose of motivation delivered straight to your inbox—no whistles, no pressure, just steady progress and encouragement. The goal? To feel stronger, more confident, and supported along the way. We’ll celebrate our journey with a college 5K event in April, but the real win is showing up for yourself (and each other). Lace up your shoes and let’s take this one step at a time—together. (Free)

Healthy Habits Group Coaching – Tuesdays 1/13, 1/27, 2/10, 2/24, 3/10 on Zoom
Whether you are trying to save money, clear clutter, eat more vegetables, get more physically active, or start a new healthy habit of any kind, making changes are easier with support and accountability. Small changes can positively impact your self-esteem, energy level and overall health. Sharing your thoughts, challenges and successes are encouraged and not required. We meet every other week. Lane Employee Step Challenge (on Step Up App):
It’s time to put some pep in your step! Download the Step Up app (use your phone to access QR code below) and join the Lane Employee Group to track your steps, share your progress, and cheer on your colleagues.
We’ll have monthly challenges—think most total steps, most consistent walker, or ultimate cheerleader—it will change each month so there’s a fun way for everyone to get involved. Stretch your legs, get moving, and connect with your coworkers in a playful, healthy way. Who knew tracking your steps could be this social? Let’s see how far we can go—together!

Health Accountability Group (on Slack):
If you’re like me, you’re not new to trying to improve your health and fitness. My guess is that you’ve had some successes in the past but lost your momentum as time went on. It is so hard when you feel like you’re in it alone. But you don’t have to be alone! That’s why we strive to build a supporting and uplifting virtual coaching community, where you can join with like-minded individuals, who are all trying to better themselves and their own health and fitness. I would love to invite YOU into this community.

In this channel we support each other’s goals, check-in on progress on those goals, celebrate successes, problem-solve issues, and share fun health, fitness, nutrition, and wellness tips.
