Digital Signage

Digital Signage

Lane uses Korbyt our digital signs. To submit content to display on a digital sign, please either:

  1. Use the online digital signage form (preferred - coming soon!)
  2. Work with the Design and Media Center to create and post your sign content (email dmc@lanecc.edu)
  3. Email korbyt@lanecc.edu with your content, what signs you'd like your content to be displayed on, and the start and end date to display your content.

Note that all sign content must adhere to the digital signage procedure (coming soon!) and be approved by Marketing and Public Relations.

Design Tips for Digital Signs:

  1. Size: The display area is 1440px wide by 1080px tall. While other sizes can be used, using those dimensions will maximize the space you have to shown your message.
  2. Design: Have a strong visual hierarchy. Arrange your primary points in at least three tiers:
    1. Headline: large type to capture someone’s attention: 16+ point
    2. Subhead: supportive information like date, time and place: 14-24 point
    3. Body: the details: 12-14 point
  3. Fonts and size: stick to clear and readable type at a size that is easy to read from some distance. Ornate or decorative fonts might be difficult to read.
  4. Images: Choose an image that best represents your message. Consider inclusiveness in your image choice. Make sure that you use images that have been properly acquired with appropriate rights or permissions. Collect photo release signatures for any persons photographed for your project. For more information on appropriate image use, contact the Design and Media Center at dmc@laneccedu.

Accessibility & Branding:

  1. Accessibility: Keep good visual contrast, and always use a contrast checker tool. Do not place white type on a yellow background or vice versa. Have any information follow logical sequences. Avoid ornate or busy fonts. Keep the fonts as large as they can be within their hierarchy, and ensure text can be read at a distance of ten feet. There is no need to dispaly an accessibility statement on your sign images; the statement is included on every sign.
  2. Branding: For on-campus viewing, branding is not necessary (but appreciated).
