Creating Accessible Google Docs with Grackle
Grackle Docs:
- Is an add-on accessibility checker used in Google Workspace
- Checks your document against current accessibility standards (WCAG, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
- Advises you on how to make things more accessible
- Gives you the option to create tagged PDFs
Grackle Docs is part of Grackle Suite. The suite has accessibility checkers for Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. Lane has a license to the pro version. Directions on how to install the add-on are included in the information below.

Directions for installing and using Grackle
It's time to explore the Grackle Docs Accessibility Checker. It is an amazing tool for checking a Google document. It helps us ensure the content is readable and accessible to all individuals. If it passes the checks you can output the document as an accessible PDF.

- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click the three vertical dots for more options. Go to Settings.
- At the bottom of the Settings page, click Accessibility.
- Turn on Live Caption.
Step 3: Install Grackle in your Google Docs toolbar (directions are in the slideshow)
Step 4: Open a Google document and run accessibility checks on it. Make your corrections and check it again. (directions are in the slideshow)
