Newly Remodeled Florence Center Earns Silver LEED Certification

From Sustainability

The Florence Center is the latest Lane Community College (LCC) building to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, with the Silver level for their LEED Building Operations and Maintenance (O+M) rating system. This transformation included new LED lighting, Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, and more efficient HVAC systems. These not only improved comfort for students, staff, and faculty, but also improved energy efficiency, strengthening Lane’s commitment to community stewardship and future generations.

Lane has a long history of environmentalism, driven by the passion of our staff, faculty, and students. Here are the many ways you can get involved:

Take advantage of the Reusable Office Supply Exchange (ROSE) Room and surplus for free office supplies and furniture.
Learn about recycling and composting on campus.
Join the Sustainability Committee to make real, lasting change at Lane.
Champion sustainable practices in your department through the Green Office Program.
Apply for renewable energy funds with Lane's Green Revolving Fund.
Feel the earth under your fingers and volunteer in our Learning Garden.
