Overview
In alignment with the current LCCEF contract, the College has partnered with Segal to conduct a classification and compensation study. This classification review aims to ensure the appropriate grouping and assignment of jobs within classifications. The analysis considers various factors, including job responsibilities, required qualifications, accountability, and overall impact. This information is intended to provide transparency of process.

Why are we conducting a classification & compensation review at Lane?
- To support our commitment to offering an attractive, competitive, fair, and equitable compensation for our staff.
- To ensure a modernized and relevant job evaluation and classification approach.
- To ensure Lane has a classification and compensation program that will allow the college to attract, motivate, develop and retain highly talented and diverse staff to deliver exceptional results.
Beyond just a competitive market review, this work also includes:
- Focus groups to collect feedback about Lane’s approach to compensation, what works, and what doesn’t.
- Collection of position information to create updated and consistent classification specifications.
- Developing formalized compensation principles including identification of appropriate market comparator groups for benchmarking and market pay targets.
