Professional Development

At Lane, we want to help you grow your skills, expand your knowledge, and reach your career goals. Check out professional development opportunities designed for your role: classified staff, faculty, or manager. Everyone also completes cultural competency training, which helps us create an inclusive, welcoming community for all.

New employees have the opportunity to participate in an onboarding program and new faculty members receive additional support through the Faculty Connections program

Resources to help you meet your professional development goals are also available. Check out our Resources page to find out more.

Fall In-service and Spring Conference

The college also provides full-day professional development opportunities in the spring and fall terms. The days include guest speakers and breakout sessions on relevant topics tied to the institution's strategic priorities. Employees also have the opportunity for professional growth as they share their expertise as workshop facilitators on these campus conference days.

Fall In-Service

Our Fall In-Service event provides an opportunity to prepare as a campus community for a new academic year of guiding all of our students toward the successful progression and completion of their respective programs. The event focuses on institutional priorities and creating a climate that supports all staff at the college by providing educational workshops, lectures, and breakout sessions for classified, faculty, and management staff.

Spring Conference

The event we know as Spring Conference arrives annually on Lane's main campus on a Friday during spring term. On this day, the College promotes professional development and training for classified, faculty, and management staff in the form of concurrent, multi-disciplinary workshops that occur throughout the day, as well as providing staff an opportunity to network and meet up with colleagues at a buffet lunch.
