Mission Statement
The Lane Dance Program offers both transfer students and community members courses in dance technique, somatics, theory, and performance. With exceptional instructors teaching in a supportive community, dancers train with equal focus on technique, creativity, and somatic awareness.
The dance program is based on the premise that the practice and study of diverse forms of dance and the development of the individual’s creative voice empowers students to contribute to society in purposeful and meaningful ways.
The program’s focus on creativity, integrity, and professionalism provides students with the necessary skills to succeed in dance or other fields that value communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Students experience movement, creativity, and community as foundations for healthy living and lifelong learning.
