AFTER LANE

Our students have used the aesthetic, conceptual, and creative skills they’ve learned in the Visual Arts at Lane to transfer to top tier art schools such as CalArts, Maryland Institute of Art, PNCA, The Art Institute of California, Cooper Union, and Chicago Art Institute and more! After enrolling at Lane, you’ll work with your advisor to develop a transfer plan that works for you.

If you’re interested in transferring to the University of Oregon or Oregon State University, you’ll be able to take advantage of our articulation agreements and transfer guides. Visual arts credits can also fulfill part of an Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree. The AAOT will help you transfer to a four-year institution to earn your degree and launch many career options.  If you’re not sure where you want to go after Lane, talk to the arts advisors! They’ll help you navigate your options and find the right path for your goals.

Visual Arts alumni have gone on to become successful local, regional and national artists, earned teaching degrees, become art therapists, tattoo artists, started their own businesses, and more. Even if you don’t plan to major in art, our classes will help you develop problem solving skills, self confidence, self awareness, and a life-long appreciation and involvement with the arts.
