Prepare for your journeyman card
Our program combines both real world, on-the-job training with classroom learning. The apprenticeship lasts four years. You'll do 144 hours of related training per year and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training. Afterward, you can take your licensing exam through the Oregon Building Codes Division. With a few more courses, you can get your associate degree in construction technology.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- Industry safety standards
- Fabrication and installation of ductwork
- Electrical work involving installation, wiring, service and repair of environmental control systems
- General trade skills for construction
- Math skills
AFTER LANE
After your apprenticeship, you can apply for a journeyman license. The current minimum journey-level wage for HVAC technicians is $33.76 per hour.
Turn your coursework into a degree
Construction Trades, General Apprenticeship, 1-yr Certificate
Earn a certificate on your road to apprenticeship. You'll take more classes to deepen your skills and earn 1 year certificate.
Construction Trades, General Apprenticeship, AAS
Earn a degree on your road to apprenticeship. You'll take more classes to deepen your skills and earn an associate (2 year) degree.
