GEER Grant
Lane Community College is dedicated to supporting students acutely affected by the pandemic, including those who have not previously been eligible for CARES relief. We have a remaining balance from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER) that enables us to provide additional assistance this term.
Who is it for:
You should apply for the GEER fund if you meet the following:
- You are currently enrolled at Lane Community College in Spring term 2021
- You have been negatively impacted by the pandemic
- You did not submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) because
- You are a GED/ABSE student
- You are an ESL student
- You are an International student
- You are a DACA student
- You do not have a social security number
- You are taking fewer than six (6) credits.
This fund is open to all of the above student categories
What is it for:
The GEER fund can be used to pay for any immediate expenses that will allow you to stay enrolled in college, such as:
- Housing, Electricity or Water Bills
- Food
- Child Care
- Internet and Technology needs
- Etc.
